ST. GEORGE – Kids can learn more about the great outdoors and the adventures that are available in Southern Utah by participating in the 2013 Junior Ranger Family Night at Tonaquint Park on Friday from 5-7 p.m.
Participants will check in at the park’s north pavilion and receive their adventure map. Throughout the park, kids will visit various agencies and participate in their special activities in order to check the activity off their list. After visiting all the stations, kids can get a hot dog, chips and drink at the main pavilion, courtesy of Zions Bank.
The event is free, but preregistration will guarantee your child a Smokey goodie bag. It is not necessary for parents and children over age 14 to register. Registration can be done in person at the St. George Recreation Center, located at 400 East 285 South in St. George, or online.
Junior Ranger Night is co-sponsored by the Bureau of Land Management-Utah St. George Field Office, Snow Canyon State Park, Sand Hollow State Park, U.S. Forest Service, Red Cliffs Desert Reserve, Washington County Water Conservancy District, Star Nursery, Girl Scouts of America, Pipe Springs National Monument and the Tonaquint Nature Center.
The program urges: “Get outdoors as a family and explore.”
