CEDAR CITY – Two vehicles were towed Friday night after one of the drivers hit the other after swerving to miss a deer, authorities said.
The crash occurred near the block of 2640 North Main Street at approximately 6:30 p.m.
The cars smashed into each other after the driver of a silver Saturn Vue sideswiped a white Kia Optima after swerving to miss a deer, according to Cedar City Police Sgt. Jerry Womack.
Both vehicles sustained serious damage and had to be towed from the scene.
There were no critical injuries reported. However, Gold Cross Ambulance transported one person to Cedar City Hospital after the patient complained of neck pain, Womack said.
Several Cedar City law enforcement officers were on scene to assist as the crash detoured the southbound flow of traffic to the center left-hand turn lane on Main Street for nearly an hour.
The crash is under investigation although no citations were issued.
The Iron County Sheriff’s Office along with Cedar City Fire, Utah Highway Patrol and Gold Cross Ambulance were also on scene.
This report is based on preliminary information provided by law enforcement or other emergency responders and may not contain the full scope of findings.

Ah yes, “neck pain”. The “Bernstein Fracture”. EMT’s know all about this one.
Well you better hunt down that deer and arrest it for failing to yield the right of way and leaving the scene of the accident
