ST. GEORGE – A 32-year-old man sought by federal agents for his alleged involvement in a shooting in eastern Utah earlier this month has been apprehended, according to the FBI.
James Bradley Moore was found early Thursday morning at a home in Vernal by the U.S. Marshals Violent Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team, FBI spokeswoman Sandra Yi Barker said in a statement.
“Moore barricaded himself in the home for 90 minutes before he surrendered,” she said.
Moore is a suspect in the May 6 shooting of a 22-year-old man inside a home in the Fort Duchesne area, west of Vernal. The victim was flown to a hospital in critical condition.
Multiple law enforcement agencies, including the FBI and U.S. Bureau of Indian Affairs, had been searching to Moore since the incident.
Law officials asked for the public’s aid in locating Moore, though noted he was considered “armed and dangerous.”
Moore was booked into the Uintah County Jail on an unrelated warrant.
“We would like to thank all of our law enforcement partners and the public for their tips,” Barker said.
Persons arrested or charged are presumed innocent until found guilty in a court of law or as otherwise decided by a trier-of-fact.
