Parade photo gallery: Sweet dreams are made of Swiss

SANTA CLARA — Hundreds of people lined the streets of Santa Clara Saturday morning as the community’s Swiss Days Parade made its way through town.

The popular parade, which featured dozens of entries, marks the third and final day of Santa Clara City’s annual Swiss Days celebration, which continues until 4 p.m. Saturday at the town square park.

The procession included a wide range of entries, including softball champions, a marching band, cheerleaders, dancers, pageant royalty, politicians, rugby players, radio station personalities and commercial businesses. All along the way, eager children rushed to collect candy and treats tossed out by the occupants of the passing vehicles, which included vintage cars, horse-drawn carriages and fire trucks.
